Hey guys!

Just wanted to give you guys a short shout-out from Hong Kong!

I'm on my last night here in Hong Kong, where me and my sister have been "back-packing" for the last 3 days.

I'll be giving you guys a full run-down on our trip here when I get back to Manila.

I got to go now, for some last minute shopping at the Ladies Night Market in Mong Kok. See you guys when I get back!

The 2 Months That Were

As promised, I am updating you guys on what's been happening to me in the past 2 months. And please, bear with me, coz this going to be a very long entry...

Anyway, it was a very crazy Christmas Season. There was the Office Christmas Party at the PICC Forum, then there was the Team Christmas Party at the office. As Christmas Parties go, there was food galore! Everyone had their fill.

January came, and I resigned from my job. Yes folks! I resigned. The effectivity of my resignation was last January 30th, but I took my Terminal Leave starting January 15. The reason for my resignation is another entry waiting to happen.

Before I even resigned, I've already submitted my Resume to a number of companies via email and online Job Markets. I spent almost a month going through interviews and Job Offers, one after another, that I'd get home and just fall flat on my bed!

I've gotten pretty good leads and tons of offers from good companies around the Metro. There were offers for Researcher Positions, Transcriber, Analyst, Team Lead, etc. But the salaries were not quite appealing. Nor were the benefits.

The best offer I got was from HSBC Electronic Data Processing Philippines (HDPP) in Alabang. They offered me a job as an Associate Fraud Specialist for their US Credit Cards Department. The pay is the highest I've ever been offered, and the location of the office is a close proximity from home. Now, why wouldn't I accept their offer?!?

I signed up with HDPP and will start on Monday, February 27 at 8:30PM. Think the Evening Shift sucks, right?!? Actually, it really doesn't matter. I'm used to sleeping at 4:30AM anyway.

After signing the offer from HDPP, everything went downhill. I was able to relax and breathe a sigh of relief (even if I ended up as the Official Cook and Dishwasher of the House!).

The highlight of my "vacation" was when my Babies, Matthew and Luisa, stayed in our house for 5 Days!

My cousin, Ate Mhin, and her husband were required to attend an Interview by the New Zealand Immigration Authorities in Bangkok last February 2. Since they had no one to look after their kids, they left them with the kids' most doting Godmother... ME!

I picked up Matt and Luisa, along with their Nanny, Juliet, from their house last February 1. Matt was excited to see me, that he started to call my attention everytime! He'd say "Iyang??? Iyang!!!" (Matt's words for Ninang, a Filipino Term for Godmother) whenever I'd get out of his sight. He's become so talkative, that guy!

Luisa, on the other hand, was contented with playing inside her stroller. She had gotten bigger from when I last saw her. She was also quite fussy, moving around a lot. She also got a lot prettier!

When we got to BF Homes, I felt quite hungry, so I brought the kids and Juliet to Jollibee, where we could grab a bite, and let Matt play in their Indoor Playground. Matt, initially ate half of my food, before I ushered him to the Playground. He played with the puzzles and met new friends.

When we got home, we were pretty tired from our trip and were completely sated with the food we just ate. A few minutes after we had settled in, Ate Mhin and Ernest arrived, and we proceeded to set up Luisa's Playpen.

The next day, I brought Ate Mhin and Ernest to the Airport for their flight to Bangkok. I got home just in time to comfort a crying Matthew. You see, Matt cries whenever he wakes up with nobody beside him. Actually, he cries even in his sleep. I explained to him that his parents went to fix their Immigration for New Zealand. Somehow, I think he understood. He stopped crying and walked to the kitchen, looking famished! Luisa woke up without a fuss. We just saw her playing around in her Playpen.

We spent the whole day playing! Whenever my Mom had patients, Matt would go to the Living Room to entertain them, while I held his sister. He such a precocious toddler!

Luisa... Now she's a handful! She gets all hyped up! Wanting to crawl around, stand up, etc. You couldn't keep her still. Unless, she's asleep, at least. But she's so adorable, you couldn't help but fuss over her! Most of the time, Pam took care of Luisa while she was studying.

I brought Matthew to Festival Mall the next day to buy him some slippers, since he did not like wearing his sandals at home. He'd get grumpy and pull on his sandals. Since we didn't want him to walk barefoot around the house, I got him some Batman Flip Flops at Robinsons. We walked around the store and he tried all the Motorized Cars and Kiddie Motorbikes in sight! A lot of the Sales Associates found him cute and he'd turn on his charm! He'd walk over to them with his irresistable smile and they all gushed!

We had a fun time at the Mall, we got some groceries, ate dinner, and got him on some of the Kiddie Rides. He was so happy! So was I.

Anyway, I hardly got any sleep when the kids were here, but it didn't matter. They gave me all the energy I needed. It's true what they say about babies. They take all your stress away with just one smile!

When it was time for them to go home, after Ate Mhin and Ernest came back from Bangkok, I felt awful. I was in withdrawal... I had a hard time letting go of the kids.

Thank goodness, the 2nd installment of Pinoy Big Brother was having its launch the same evening. It took my mind away from the depression I was feeling after the kids went home.

The week went by so fast. I didn't even notice that the days passed. I was able to see the kids again and I brought them to The Picture Company to have their portraits done... And they looked sooo cute! Love those kids to bits! Yes, it made a huge dent on my savings, but it was worth every penny!

Anyway, I best be going... Post some more again soon.

Quickie Picture Post...

I know its been a long time since my last post, but it has been a pretty chaotic 2 months. I'll have to fill you guys in soon. I promise.

In the meantime, I'd like to share some pictures that I really treasure.

Enjoy!
